Applying to TCA

The Admissions process is a key part of fulfilling our school’s mission to covenant with families.

This partnership with parents guides our educational philosophy and the culture of our school, and so we strive to ensure a good fit between our school and each prospective family. Our enrollment process is designed to provide you with the opportunity to have your questions answered and it enables us to learn about your family’s specific needs and interests.

Admissions FAQs

  • In order to fulfill our mission to covenant with families in the cultivation of Christian piety, The Classical Academy of Sioux Center adheres to the following admissions requirements.

    In order to enroll children at TCA, at least one parent/foster parent/guardian must:

    • be a member in good standing or faithful attender in a local church;

    • affirm TCA’s statement of faith;

    • abide by and submit to the Statement on Character and Conduct ;

    • support the mission and vision of the school;

    • adhere to all policies and procedures as listed in the Student/Parent Handbook;

    • sign TCA’s Enrollment Agreement

  • Yes! We are accredited with Christian Schools International and are eligible to receive ESAs as payment for the 2025-2026 school year.

  • Odyssey is the online system that parents will use to apply for ESAs. Parents must apply by June 30 in order to be eligible for ESA funds.

  • TCA will offer need-based scholarships for families. A form will be available during the application process.

  • Enrolled families will have the opportunity to set-up a monthly payment plan.

Admissions Process

  • Step 1: Learn

    The first step in the Admissions process is to learn about classical education and our school. In addition to attending an info meeting or meeting with school representatives, parents should review the TCA website to better understand our mission and educational philosophy.

  • Step 2: Apply

    Begin the application process by clicking on the Apply Now button below. Once your submission is received, we will send you the Student Application, Pastoral Reference Form, and Student Records Request Form.

  • Step 3: Student assessment

    All incoming students are given an assessment to determine their general preparation for TCA. No specific score is required, but the assessment provides helpful information for class placement and general disposition toward the school community so that we can ensure student success.

  • Step 4: Family interview

    All parents or guardians and older students (incoming 7th grade and above) are interviewed by the Admissions Committee. This interview helps us to assess new applicants based on our school's mission and culture. Families are considered based upon:

    • A family faith that aligns with our statement of faith

    • A desire to pursue classical Christian education.

  • Step 5: Admissions Committee Decision

    Acceptance into TCA means that we believe that we can serve your family well and there is a fit with our community.

  • Step 6: Enroll

    To secure your child’s spot, a non-refundable $100/student ($250/family maximum) enrollment fee is due at the time of the signed enrollment agreement. For families wishing to apply for tuition aid, an application and aid package will be provided before the enrollment fee is required.
